Experimental Study of the Factors Influencing the Performance of the Bonding Interface between Epoxy Asphalt Concrete Pavement and a Steel Bridge Deck

The bonding between pavement and a steel bridge deck is key component affecting the structural integrity of delamination major cause. interface was systematically investigated to evaluate interactive influences factors, such as air void asphalt concrete pavement, surface roughness deck, thickness zinc-rich epoxy primer, waterproof membrane, on bond strength interface, through simulated loading, brine immersion, pull-off, observation experiments. results show that low (<3.0%) necessary condition for corrosion resistance reliability structure, primer provided an additional guarantee pavement; additionally, combination plate in range 120–140 μm 80–110 led high strength, which also conducive plate. structure should be designed combinatorial optimization multiple factors create integrated anticorrosion system.
